New Years Eve nails

Today we are looking forward to welcoming in the year in a few days time!

How has 2014 been for you?

We hope you had a great Christmas, we can't believe it's over for another year!

With that said, we now have new years eve to look forward too - and what better night to get super dressed up and really go for it!?

We have shown some of our glitters on the blog in previous posts, but today we have a real feast of glitter for you - so if you know a glitter-lover, send them in our direction!

If you can't rock a super glittery nail on NYE then when can you?

140 - Purple Glitter

Shown above is one coat of our very own 124 - Violet topped with three coats of 140 - Purple Glitter.

Three coats is more than enough for each of our glitter polishes to ensure full coverage is achieved, however if you would rather be safe and ensure there are no gaps we would recommend one thin coat of a similar colour to start with!

We have also used our own 101 - Base Coat, Top Coat and Hardener to finish off and give gorgeous sparkle and shine.

136 - Red Glitter

For the red glitter nail we began with one thin coat of 109 - Blood Red and then three coats of 136 - Red Glitter. The nail was freshly painted in the above photographs (hence why it has a slight wet look). Again we finished with our own 101 - Top Coat, Base Coat and Hardener for extra shine.

138 - Gold Glitter

Gold Glitter has been a huge favourite throughout the month of December - and it's easy to see why! 

We began this nail with one coat of 133 - Butterscotch followed by three coats of 138 - Gold Glitter and one coat of 101 - Base Coat, Top Coat and Hardener.

This polish also looks amazing over black!

139 - Silver Glitter

This silver glitter look has been created slightly differently. We have used one thick coat of 105 - Silver and only two coats of 139 - Silver Glitter. 

105 - Silver contains very subtle shimmer and so can be worn alone for an understated glittery look.

For the purpose of new years eve of course we have added 139 - Silver Glitter for extra sparkle!

Finished, as always with one coat of 101 - Base Coat, Top Coat and Hardener.

142 - Blue Glitter

Finally, the last colour in our current collection; 142 - Blue Glitter. 

Pictured is one coat of 106 - Cobalt Blue followed by three coats of 142 - Blue Glitter and finished with one coat of 101 - Base Coat, Top Coat and Hardener.

Christmas party nailspiration

A huge merry Christmas to you all from Vivien Kondor London!

With only one week until Christmas Eve, we are really starting to get into the Christmas spirit - are you getting excited?

We have loved the Christmas season so far, as this is our first as a brand with a range available to the public, and we have been spending a lot of time experimenting with colours and nail ideas for this time of year.

If you know our current 42-colour range, you will be aware of our 'Glitter Collection' - a set of 9 glitter colours that work perfectly both on top of another colour or on their own. (If you haven't seen our range - you can find it on Amazon here). 

We think that these colours are absolutely perfect for the Christmas party season - and have been loving 136 - Red Glitter and 138 - Gold Glitter.

That being said, we wanted to show you something a little different today, as so far throughout December we have posted a lot of reds and golds.

This post is for those that have wanted to try something new and break away from the 'standard' Christmas-themed colours - whilst still staying appropriate for the Christmas party that is just around the corner.

Pictured above is an absolute must in any nail polish collection, white. This is our very own 102 - Matte White with two coats.

We love a white polish at VKHQ, it goes with absolutely everything and is always in style.

This is a wonderful base for our Glitter Collection. We have one to show you today (below), however you could top this colour with any of our glitters to give this simple nail an instant edge.

We opted for a member of the Glitter Collection that hasn't been reviewed or shown on the blog before, but is one of our favoruites: 141 - Hexagon Glitter.

Hexagon Glitter is a clear polish jam-packed with different sized, different coloured and different shaped (but as you've probably guessed - mostly hexagons) shiny pieces of delight. 

We think it is so much fun and really adds a funky, lighthearted tone to nails.

This look is a great alternative to the reds and golds you will be seeing on nails around the Christmas period - it is still fun, still sparkly and still festive but so different at the same time - everyone's a winner!

Of course you don't have to use the polish on every nail as pictured above, use it on just one or two for a surprise pop of sparkle that isn't as over-the-top or party-ready as this look.

Also, pictured is two coats of Matte White with one thick coat of Hexagon Glitter - you can use as much or as little as you want to create your desired look.

Another colour that hasn't had much attention from the range is 105 - Silver.

This polish has the most gorgeous metallic, shiny finish with teeny tiny flecks of sparkle that catch the light beautifully as you move.

You could easily get away with wearing this polish as part of a casual look, and of course you could rock this with a LBD and silver accessories on a Saturday night - but we think it is also a great alternative colour at Christmas time.

It is shiny, has a hint of sparkle and is a perfect party colour, what more could you want?

If you're not really feeling in the Christmas spirit this year or simply want to try something different - we would definitely recommend you give this a try.

If you want to give it that little extra sparkle for the party season we would recommend that you top it with 139 - Silver Glitter. 

So there you have it.

There are so many different colours and glitter combinations we are dying to show you - but we know you're rushed off your feet Christmas shopping so for now, that's your lot.

Happy Saturday everybody!

Vivien Kondor Christmas gift inspiration - Part I

Merry Christmas from Vivien Kondor!

We really love this time of year at VKHQ, cosy jumpers, warm fires, hot chocolate, Christmas films - and of course christmassy nails and make-up!

The big day is really starting to creep up on us (13 days to go) and if you are not completely organised when it comes to Christmas shopping (like us) you may still be looking for some inspiration. Luckily for you we think we might be able to help!

110 - Red Black

Red Black is a stunning deep red - and is absolutely perfect for the colder months. We love a dark red polish here at Vivien Kondor, and this is the darkest red available in the current range. This is a sophisticated colour that can take you from the office, to Christmas shopping on a Saturday afternoon, to the work Christmas party on Saturday night!

138 - Gold Glitter

What says Christmas better than a glittery gold polish? This is one of our favourite picks for Christmas, and there are so many ways to wear it! As Lauren from The Naily Mail shows us above, you can use Gold Glitter as a finishing touch to already coloured nails, or you can use it by itself for complete glitter coverage (we recommend three coats in this case).

112 - Beechwood Red

Beechwood Red is the colour that we have had the most positive feedback for - you guys love it, and it's easy to see why! Not only is the colour perfect for the winter months, it is shiny without the need for topcoat, is subtly shimmery and is just dark enough without being any less cheery for the Christmas season. This colour is perfect for the more adventurous user - it would look wonderful used for Christmas themed nail art.

117 - Shiny Baby Pink

If you are longing for the warmer months to return and already counting down the days until spring - we have the perfect selection of colours that will make you forget how cold and grey it is outside!

Enter Shiny Baby Pink, this polish is a pretty pale pink with a metallic finish and is the ideal colour for the first few moths of warmer weather as it is girly and summery without being too over-the-top.

107 - Lime Green
For a perfect spring nail that is a little different - Lime Green is the best choice. The colour is light, bright and cheerful and this particular shade of green is absolutely perfect for the spring months!

Allow us to introduce ourselves...

Hello to all you lovely readers, thank-you for taking some time out of your day to visit our blog.

Today we thought we would take the time to explain a little about who we are and what it is that we do. Our first two posts were quite specifically related to events that had occurred during our week (you can check those out here and here), so today we are taking advantage of the opportunity to post whatever we like, and thought we'd dive a little deeper into what Vivien Kondor is all about.

Vivien Kondor London began as Elegance by London in 2010. The founder had two very simple passions: cosmetics and bargains, and wanted to merge the two together.

Fragrances, Cosmetics, Perfumes was launched shortly after; specializing in designer and well known branded cosmetics and perfumes at affordable prices (check them out here - you will be overwhelmed with Christmas gift inspiration!)

And then, in 2012, Vivien Kondor London was born. It was founded by a group of people with both knowledge and passion of the cosmetics industry, and they are ready to take it by storm!

So what exactly does Vivien Kondor do...?

The Vivien Kondor London team know the cosmetics industry oh so well, and also have a pretty good handle on how much things cost and how to allow cosmetics fans to enjoy products at prices that are lower than they expected.

Here, we love luxurious and sophisticated cosmetics, we are in awe of Chanel, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent... the list is endless, and who isn't!?

Now, we are certainly not claiming to be the next Chanel - however we feel that we can bring you a little sprinkle of luxury for a fraction of the price - and we won't rest until you agree.

Our first ever range is 42 nail polish colours. And it is a range that we are genuinely very proud of and excited about. We have had a handful of reviews from bloggers (thanks for the inspiration to start blogging by the way ladies!) and so far we have had wonderful feedback, which makes the rocky road that is launching a new brand feel a little steadier under our feet.

Vivien Kondor is still a baby, we are learning and growing every day and it hasn't been easy - but it certainly has been worth it.
